DESCRIPTION OF PARTNER
Windhorse Society is an organisation in treating psychotic patients, mostly in chronic state on a non-hospital basis. besides the organizing of the ongoing medical treatment the work is centered around attending to the clients in their homes, trying to optimize their living situation and by working with the accompanying network of family members, fiends, neighbors etc. The open Dialogue is the preferred treating option in our work. The implementing of the Open Dialogue approach is the goal of our work orientation.
The work in treating psychotic clients outside the hospital needs the full use of resources of supporting the healing process. Shifting from the usual heavy medication use based on an individualized scope of disorder and disfunction we went forward to use the psychotherapeutic and human attending roots. In a broader scope besides each person concerned with psychic dysfunction there are communications with persons around them. Sometimes this communications are supportive, sometimes they are aggravating the problematic situation.
The obvious way to optimize the treating situation is to integrate this family members, friends and neighbors in the healing process. For this integration work, the network approach is necessary. there are missing ressources and competences for that, even some of us are educated familiy therapists.
